Dates to Remember

When planning a trip to Disney World there are lots of things to keep track of. Many people don’t think about, or plan, lots of trip details in advance (and they can still have an amazing vacation!), but if you are someone who likes to plan, you’ll want to know the dates below.

Having these dates all kept track of *for* you is one of the best perks of using a travel agent who specializes in Disney, in my opinion.

Staying On Property

  • 180 days before check in
    • Dining reservations for the length of your trip (up to 10 days)
    • Reservations for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
  • 60 days before check in
    • Ability to make FastPass+ selections for the length of your trip (for FastPass+ explanation click here)
  • 30 days before check in
    • Package payment due in full
  • 3 days before the first photo is taken
    • Last day to purchase Memory Maker for advanced purchased price (and save $30)
  • 2 days before check in
    • Last chance to book reservations on Disney’s Magical Express
  • 45 days after photos are taken
    • Last day to download Memory Maker photos before they are no longer viewable on your My Disney Experience account

Staying Off Property

  • 180 days before the date of the reservation you want
    • Dining
    • Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
  • 30 days before each park day
    • FastPass+ selections
  • 3 days before first photo is taken
    • Last day to purchase Memory Maker for advanced purchase price (and save $30)
  • 45 days after photos are taken
    • Last day to download Memory Maker photos before they are no longer viewable on your My Disney Experience account

As you can see, if you are staying off property, you can still make many advanced plans, you just make them ___ of days before each day of plans. So if you are going to the parks 3 days in a row, you will make advanced plans 3 days in a row for each thing you’d like.

Again, you can certainly have a great time in Disney World without planning everything super far in advance, and you don’t have to make all your reservations the day they open. However, if you have a specific place or time slot you would like to get, it is definitely recommended to take advantage of the first day that the reservation window is open. If you are going during a notoriously busy time (most holidays or spring break), it is also advisable to take advantage of advanced reservations as soon as you can.

If you are planning your own Disney vacation these dates are important to keep in mind, but if you use a travel agent, they will keep track of all these details!  I would happily help you keep track of all your booking windows.
